About Magic Shrooms and who publishes it

Who publishes Magic Shrooms, how the glossary entries are written, sourced and checked, and why the product links on this site go to Dutch-Smart.

Updated

Magic Shrooms is published by the team behind the Dutch smartshop Dutch-Smart. The product links on this site go to Dutch-Smart, and when you buy through such a link, the shop earns from the sale. We put this first because it should shape how you read the rest.

Why a glossary

The vocabulary around magic mushrooms and truffles mixes mycology, pharmacology, law and shop language, and most online lists repeat each other without sources. This site defines each term briefly, says where the definition comes from, and connects it to the terms it depends on. The map on the start page shows those connections; every entry also lists them under "See also".

How the entries are written

  • Short and sourced. Each definition is a few sentences long and links to the source it rests on: scientific papers, law texts, court rulings and Dutch public information services such as DRUGSinfo (Trimbos Institute) and Jellinek.
  • Measured or not. Where a figure comes from a laboratory, we name the study. Where a description comes from the shop, we quote it as the shop's description.
  • No instructions. The glossary contains no dose advice, no preparation methods and no growing instructions.
  • No medical claims. We make no claims of any kind about health or medical effects.
  • No invented people. There are no testimonials, reviews or personal stories on this site.

Each page shows the date it was last checked. If you find something that is out of date or wrong, Dutch-Smart's customer service can pass it on to us.

Who is behind the shop

The Dutch-Smart mascot, a smiling lion head with a mane of leaves

Dutch-Smart is a Dutch smartshop that has been online since 2011. It ships from the Netherlands and sells to adults only. Fresh magic truffles are legal to buy in the Netherlands; most other countries have stricter laws, so check the legal terms and the law where you are before you order anything.
